Facts and figures about Domaine de Sié

• A breeding centre founded in 1978 when we purchased our first mare, Italie.
• 22 stallions have been breed ; from them 6 have been voted Supreme Champion : Narcisse Castelmir, Vulcain de sié, Chico de Sié, Fennec de Sié, Isatis de Sié, Jaffar de Sié.
• 650 horses trained to harness.
• More than 750 horses trained as saddle horses.
• 650 foals born at the centre.
• 140 hectares devoted to environmentally friendly breeding with organic agriculture and one 20 m to 40 m indoor riding school with photovoltaique panels on the roof.
• Transhumance of 15 brood mares for 5 months in the summer pastures of Aston near Andorra.

Current situation :

• 20 brood mares.
• 4 stallions approved for stud, all black homozygote and non carriers of chestnut gene.
• 20 foals with 2 years of training.
• 2 associates who are passionate about the Mérens breed ; Xavier Paquin agronomist, and Simone Verdier, agricultural engineer
