| Our horse breeding grounds are located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, in a hilly area near the medieval city of Mirepoix.We are within fifteen minutes of the motor way and an hour from Toulouse. |

 Starting at the age of two, the colts
and fillies are trained with saddle and carriage, for their future
use, but also for their presentation at the famous contest of Mérens
horse breeding. This takes places each year at the end of August at
Bouan, a village in the Département ofAriège, the birth
place of the breed. Numerous tests allow the stallion candidates to
show their fitness for saddle and carriage use, before undergoing
a strict judgment on their breed charateristics. |

We want to keep the characters which made the success of the Mérens horses : rusticity, resistance, versatility, but we also want to develop qualities essential to a good horse of leisure : good temper, motivation, aptitude for work, size

 For this reason the colts, right from their birth, are put into contact with humans, |
 After weaning, a soft breaking is applied, so that our horses for sale have both confidence and respect in man.

We raise about sixty Mérens horses
in total freedom. Our live-stock includes a score of selected mares.
Covering and birthing take place in our fields at the beginning
of spring on our organic farm. At the beginning of June, the herd
treks to the mountain of Aston up to an altitude of over 2000 meters
where, during five months, the foals will acquire the characters
of rusticity and health typical of the Mérens race.
For
this reason, we have been selecting for over twenty years the
mothers and stallions. The mares are all trained in riding and
driving, which enables us to know their character better. The
stallions of Sié Farm not only successfully passed the
prescribed contests but also won the highest rewards of their
breed:
This
is our philosophy, applying "continuous training" from
birth to the age of 2 ½ to 3 years when our horses are
put for sale on the open market. Since birth,our foals
and fillies are raised in herds so that they profit from social
life, hierarchy and games. They regularly return to "training
courses" where they acquire the traditional bases of their
education and then of horsemanship: working with lunge, long reins,
on flat ground, driving, outings, getting used to urban circulation.
